i followed the recipe but made drop bisquits instead of muffins. The butter melted onto the pan and started to smoke. Was afraid i was going to set off the fire alarm. Sorry didnt work for me

Very easy to make, and delicious!!! Thank you, Paula : I made the first batch exactly as Paula's receipe called it (my muffin pan is small. To the second batch half way into baking I added a little shredded cheddar cheese on top of each biscuit, and let it broil for a minute. The cheese melted and browned very nicely! I served them with fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Good Sunday evening dinner, and my friend liked it too!

Very good biscuits and I had quite an ordeal with substitutes. First, I didn't have a mini muffin pan so I used regular sized one which altered the cooking time I'm sure. Second, I thought I had self rising flour but did not so I had to add in baking powder and salt. Despite my issues, they still came out with an awesome texture. Now that I have more self rising flour, I'm dying to try them again!

dunklinp@browns... don't know what went wrong with your recipe. Just make sure self-rising flour was used and not expired, use real butter, and regular sour cream, no substitutes. Also make sure your oven temp is registering correctly. These are awesome biscuits!

These biscuits were beyond lovely!! They simply melt in your mouth fresh out of the oven. They were also super simple to put together. Best biscuits ever! I will surely make this a family tradition for future Thanksgiving dinners. You are sure to love them like I do. Watch out it's hard to stop with just one.

they looked delicious. my wife made them as we were watching paula make them. I am thinking something went wrong when she added the ingrediants because when we bit into them, they were wet and oily in the middle. we put them back in the oven for additional 10 minutes and they never cooked in the middle. i will re-try them again because i have never had a Paula recipe fail. We had to had made a mistake. i will give a few stars because i love paula and it must have been the cooks error.
