If you don't like these muffins you don't have an appreciation
for down home cooking. If you don't know what down home cooking is
you shouldn't be trying this receipe and rating in the first place.

I haven't made this recipe yet ,but sure would like to see the helpful hint on how to make buttermilk, the sour cream. I don't normal keep things like that ,unless I'm making something that I know I'll need it for. It's only my husband and I at home. I will try this soon Thanks again for sharing you recipes

I made this recipe for the first time yesterday and they were delicious. Toniight i decided to make another batch with blueberries. I added 1/2 C sugar to the dough and folded in 6 oz of fresh blueberries. I also lightly sprinkled granulated sugar on the top before baking. They were rich, sweet and devoured in no time by my family. Thanks for another great recipe, Paula!

These were awful - I was so shocked, and they were ugly to boot!! ha.
I have never found a "Paula Deen recipe I didn't like - until this one. I got right up from watching these on tv and made them- checked the recipe on Food network webpage so I know it was correct. the only difference I did cut it in half - 1 cup SR flour, 1 stick melted butter, and 1/2 of 1/2 pint which I deteremined to be 4 oz. If hers tasted like mine when making Bag Lady lunches, she would not be the success she is today - oh well!!!!

These were great. I used them to make sandwhiches for my grilled chicken salad. I couldn't keep up with the sandwhich requests. Plus they are vry easy to make. Thanks for this one Paula.

i am not at all from scratch baker. tried these tonight i liked them. i have read all the reviews...let me give you some pointers this is what i did.
2 cups all purpose flour please measure it out.
    2 teaspoons baking powder(FRESH
1teaspoon sugar a little more if you like them on the sweet side.
2 sticks of REAL BUTTER(salted if you are unsure taste it...you taste the salt a little?if not i would add salt. not sure about the amount.EACH company adds what they want of salt to the butter. mine to me is salty.but i don't eat that much salt.
    i would guess 1/2 teaspoon.??
a few sprinkles of garlic powder.
spray tops with butter cooking spray...if you want to
8 oz measuring cup sour cream. mix until JUST combined. spoon in to regular size muffin pans about 1/2 full. push down a little on top.bake @350 for 25 min and check them. these (biscuits don't get golden brown on top. done if firm on the top and pulled away from sides of muffin pan. if in doubt pull one out give it a taste.
reason for failures you did not use SELF RISING FLOWER,OVERCOOKED.
yes i will make them again, may add dried onions, more garlic, cheddar cheese
i think this is a good basic recipe and can be expanded with other flavorings
easy to make.the taste reminds me of KFC biscuits.REMEMBER!!when you bake
EVERY EVERY ingredient affects the final product.hope this helps.
