ok i only gave this three stars because i like stuffing not soup. However, thankfully i did read all the reviews thanks everyone. Definitley only use 3 cups of chicken stock and not 7 huge difference, i did 4 and wish i didn't. This was tasty, i did use the jiffy cornbread mix as well just easier. I will do this again and my husband loved it. Just not like soup so i cooked it longer. Eveything else i followed, and we enjoyed it. thanks Paula i guess it is to each there own but this was my first time making stuffing and i am glad how good it was.

I used the concept of this recipe to make a cornbread dressing that included chorizo and italian hot sausage. I used leeks instead of celery, and only about a half a cup of diced onions. I also used 2 sticks of unsalted crackers instead of one. I did not use white bread nor did I use all the butter that is recommended. Instead I used olive oil with about one third stick of butter. I browned one chorizo and two hot italian saugages then added onion, leeks, and some green pepper. Cooked that down till ready then mixed in with the crumbled cornbread and the crumbled crackers. Added four eggs beaten eggs and combined everything and then baked in oven at 350 for about 1 hour. Not bad for my first time making it. I prefer the sweet corn bread, so next time I'll make sure my cornbread is sweet and instead of one nine inch pan of corbread I will use one plus another half. This will hopefully yield me what I am aiming for. Thanks Paula!

This recipe was just great. I am from the south and I could not get stuffing quite right. I found this recipe and followed it to the T!! It was almost as good as my grandmother's. Paula this was great. Thank you for helping me prepare stuffing that we can actually eat and love!!!

I simply cannot believe this recipe. Just the cornbread recipe is okay, but add the rest of it and you really screw this up. The best cornbread dressing I have ever tasted is so easy to make. Just doube a cornbread recipe and cook. Crumble add an egg, chopped onion, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper and turkey juices. Cook in oven stirring occasionally until no longer soggy. FANTASTIC stuff and like I said, very easy. This recipe that Paula Dean has on here...umm...well...oh Paula. What happened? You were seriously misled on this one. This is just....yuck!

This recipe is AWESOME, the folks that gave it a bad review must have had sick taste buds the day they made it. I made it for Christmas dinner in 2009, everyone raved about it. They said it was the best they ever ate. I agree, oh I did use Jiffy Mix Cornbread. I think it is sweet perhaps that made the difference, but whatever it was great.

This was really delicious. I made the cornbread a few days ahead, which made things easier on Christmas. I agree with the chicken broth concern. I used a cup less that the recipe called for and it was too soupy, requiring a much longer (an extra 20 minutes or so cooking time. Dinner was delayed a little, but everyone loved the end result. Next time, I''ll start with half of what the recipe calls for and add more as needed.

I'm a huge cornbread fan! I also love Paula Deen's recipes, but was very disappointed by this one. Be careful on the chicken broth. Mine turned out waay too soupy! Even without the excess chicken broth the recipe is just okay. It's also pretty bland. You can find a better recipe.

You have GOT to rethink this recipe. I followed it to a "T" and I can say I have never been so disappointed. Paula CANNOT be endorsing this dressing! It was dry, packed down too solid, had little flavor, tasted almost "sour" and "bitter". Please review this recipe. I have never cooked anything in Paula's cookbooks or online and been so very disappointed and devastated at what I prepared! I had to pitch this dressing out after our Christmas dinner this year!
