Served my husband this evening. Not a big chicken fan. He went absolute nuts saying it was the best chicken he ever ate...including KFC!!!

This is the best fried chicken recipe we have ever eaten. I used coconut oil to fry it in. It is wonderful and my husband and friends rant about it. Best fried chicken ever

Outstanding!!!! I added some garlic powder and paprika to the flour as well. I also double dipped it in the texas pete mixture and flour so that it had extra thick and crispy crust... so good and flavorful. I have made Bobby Flay's fried chicken recipe a couple of times, Paula has him beat on flavor all the way!!

I tried this for the first time and made a big mistake. I followed all the directions, but I didn't have enough oil to deep fry. So I filled half up and rotated sides as I fried. I finished it off in the oven. That is where I went wrong...putting it in the oven. Half was crispy (it was excellent and the other half ended up getting a bit soggy. Leftovers were disappointing for my family. Again, it was completely my fault. The flavors where all there and I am sure that if I deep fried it would have been amazing!! Trying again soon.

I had never fried chicken with self-rising flour ... which is probably the reason why my fried chicken turned out a smidge heavy and bland. But this! This was absolutely DELICIOUS!!

Amazing! I made this for my family and it was super delicious. I made the seasoning and put it in an old spice container and shook it lightly over the chicken. It came out perfect.

This was good chicken. Just a note, some people seem confused by the directions. I took the directions to mean that you season the chicken with the House Seasoning, not dip it in the salt. That could be why others are finding it too salty. My other suggestion would be to actually use a deep fryer instead of a skillet. I know some were concerned about the hot sauce but you hardly notice it. The chicken is not spicy at all. I liked the recipe and would make it again.

There is definitely a reason this recipe has the great reviews. It's easily as good as the best fried chicken I've had at restaurants and not too difficult to prepare. I listened to other reviewers and went light on the house seasoning. (it can definitely make the chicken too salty if your not careful and should be used sparingly I also used Crisco in lieu of the peanut oil just to mix it up. There is no hot added from the hot sauce and the chicken only gets a tangy quality from it. Six of us ate this chicken and everyone raved. Try it. You won't be disappointed.
