This is probably some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. It was perfect! And even better the next day when reheated...tastes like KFC (IMO. I just recently got a good deal on whole cut up chicken so I think I'm going to make this again soon!

I have not actually made this yet but I do cook allot and I have to say you people who gave the recipe a bad rating saying it was too salty must not be able to read let alone cook because the recipe is clearly showing how to make BULK HOUSE SEASONING WHICH YOU USE SOME OF TO YOUR TASTE. Please try it again and this time use the house seasoning adding a little at a time until you're pleased with the resulting taste. Paula I'm sorry, these people trashed a perfectly good recipe of yours.

This recipe is Amazing!!!! I omitted the salt and I was stunned that the chicken was extremely flavorful. My family ate it all! This recipe is a keeper!

This is a good recipe for fried chicken. However don't use all the house seasoning that is too much salt. I put it in a spice bottle and sprinkle over chicken. I then let in marinate in fridge two hours before cooking. Taste wonderful. Also mix hot sause in egg mixture a little at a time not all at once until color is bright orange and I didnt use all the hot sause because it contains salt also. Great recipe Paula!!

I had to cut down the recipe alot because I was only cooking for two people but it was absolutely wonderful! Exactly what I was looking for...and it really wasn't spicy at all! I would definately make it again!

Very good and easy recipe. I didn't use a whole cup of hot sauce but I will tomorrow when I make it again. I was worried it would be too much so I cut it back the first time and it was great but could use more seasoning (my fault. I have to say, I have never had a Paula Deen recipe I didn't like. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her and her food!

SALTY!!!! GAG!! Even where I just used 1.5 tsp. per other reviews, it was too much. My four year old spit it out! I will say that the crust would have been delicious if not for the salt, and the chicken was very tender. Next time, I'll delete the "house seasoning" entirely and add a pinch of garlic powder to the flour mixture instead.

Awful, awful, awful. Far too much salt in the first 'dip' which clung to the chicken after dipping in the egg and flour mixtures... Never, never again

Paula, you magnificent genius. This recipe is so so so easy, and delicious. The outside stays crunchy and flavor filled and the meat is juicy and succulent. Here's a tip- I didn't have a thermometer/ know when the oil would be at 350 degrees (I'm a newbie to the cooking world so I learned from a family member that if you put a drop of water on the heated oil and it fizzes, that means it's hot enough!
