The best Fried Chicken I made - and I'm nervous about deep frying. Juicy inside the breast and flavor wonderful. Tonight I made in the oven - in a big roasting pan with veg. oil and butter heated in a preheated 425 oven. Cooked for about 35 min. at 425 degrees, turned and cooked for 15 more at 350 degrees. Good- but much better and juicier (of course deep frying!

This was my first FoodNetwork recipe and it worked amazingly! This is a perfect recipe for beginners and more experienced cooks because it is uncomplicated, delicious, and quick.

it turned out great, but I made a little change. after I fried I baked it for 30 min so it was ver well done even the dark meat pieces and I didn't had to wait till last minute to fry.

This was the first time I made fried chicken and it was a hit!!! Next time I am going to bake it rather than fry it and see how that works. Yum Yum Yum!!!!

This is the best southern fried chicken I have made in 40+ years, although I do confess that I soaked the chicken pieces in buttermilk before frying.

Never have my family and I tasted such delicious chicken. My husband who normally snubs his nose at chicken of any kind, could not say enough good things about it.
I was a little concerned about the amount of pepper sauce called for, but the chicken was flavorful and not al all spicy.
It was easy to prepare and to die for good.
Thanks, Paula!!!

I lookedoverthe reviews and the only two types of answers which didn't give high ratings were of the 'too salty' category or the 'too bland' category. It probably has todo with the house seasoning - the recipe shows a separate full recipe for house seasonong - you shouldn't use the whole thing on only 2 1/2 pounds of chicken!! And if you don't use enough, it will taste bland. The only thingI wold suggest is to changethe wording on the recipe - perhaps - House Seasoning - 3TBL or to taste. Love you Paula!

I have made this twice now, the first time I didn't use as much hot sauce as called for; I also used Frank's hot sauce, the chicken was ok. The second time I used Frank's again, but a whole cup as called for and it was the best fried chicken I have had my whole life. Thanks Paula Dean.
