I have seen this show and recipe many times but never believed the hot sauce wouldn't make it hot. It is great! Not hot, just full of flavor. You could fry a shoe and it would taste good with this coating! Definately worth a try.

I usually have to ask my husband if he likes something new I cook. I did not even have to ask with this recipe. Before he finished the first piece of chicken he was telling me to make it again. It was my first try at fried chicken, and it is the last recipe I will look for. GREAT RECIPE

As a religious viewer of good eats, most of my first attempts at fried chicken took days, due to the required soak in buttermilk. I found that recipe not to my liking, due to the fitnickitiness of everything. Paula's recipe seemed comically simple to me at first, but the best things always are. I scoffed at the waste of salt and seasonings and simply seasoned my chicken with those spices separately. But other than that, I followed the recipe to the letter. Other reviewers were right - the hot sauce doesn't make the chicken hot. Also, the deeper frying method really works. In all, a perfect score well deserved.

this chicken is great. the people that say its too salty arnt doing it right. you only use about a table spoon of the house seasoning not the whole thing..
