Oh my goodness this was delicious!!!! The only thing I changed was instead of hot sauce my husband wanted me to use a new bbq sauce he had bought, Pappy's White Lightning. I have been trying and trying to make great fried chicken and hadnt come close. Tonight though I got the seal of approval from him. Thanks Paula! You best wishes from your kitchen came thru tonight!

I don't think I'll be buying fast food fried chicken ever again. Great flavors are extracted in a short amount of time.

After years of searching for the perfect recipe that the whole family loves, I have finally found it. One member of my household hates chicken, and I am here to tell you that cooked this way He absolutley loves it! I was skeptical about the hot sauce at first, but my fears were laid to rest. The first time I cooked it I couldn't even taste the hot sauce. However, I came to find out that unless I put the chicken directly into the oil after flouring, it can get spicier when say I flour all of my chicken pieces and set them on a platter, thereby letting the hot sauce soak into the flour a little bit before adding to the oil for cooking. Must say that either way spicy or not I loved it regardless and so did my family. Thanks Paula LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!

Quick , easy , and finger licking good! I did not have the self rising flour so I used all purpose flour instead , it turned out just as great.

Delicious, crispy and moist. I prepared this exactly as described, used the peanut oil (never used it before and timed the chicken and it was perfect and not hot at all as expected. My family raved over it, my son-in-law could not believe how good it was. So easy and fast compared my normal recipe.

This was a great recipe. The chicken was juicy and took no time to cook at all. I think next time I will add some seasoning to the flour for more flavor. Thanks Paula!
