My wife made Paula Dean's Southern Fried Chicken last week for Father's Day. The chicken was crispy, but yet tender and full of flavor-the best I have ever tasted. Hands down the best!

This is a tasty recipe for fried chicken. Not as good as my southern born & bred mother's or granny's, but good. I followed it exactly and cooked it in my cast iron skillet. That's the best way to cook authentic fried chicken. The seasonings were really good, but too salty. yes, I know you are to make the seasoning blend, use a bit and store the rest. But even then with what I coated my chicken with, came out a tad salty. I think I will use 1/2 C salt in my blend, next time. All in all a good and easy recipe. I like the bit of spice from the hot sauce, adds a good flavor! Served mine with buttermilk biscuits and cole slaw and it was like going home again.

This recipe is so easy, yet soooooooooo delicious. Since trying this recipe, this is the only way I fry my chicken.

I make this all the time, I use chicken tenders-FABULOUS! I arrange on a platter with honey mustard and blu cheese dips as well as celery stalks and carrot sticks. Everyone dives in! Crowd pleaser!

Loved the recipe, especially the hot sauce! I only used half a cup.

this dish was a big hit for the whole family! i'll deifinitely be doing it again.
i didn't have any self-rising flour, so i used regular flour and added a teaspoon of baking soda, and it worked fine.
on my second trial, i cute the chicken breasts into little cubes and made nuggets out of them, the kids and the grown-ups loved them!
