This recipe was very simple and it tasted great. I was afraid, like others, the hot sauce would make it too spicy, but it had just a hint of spice. If you like spicy fried chicken (like I do you should probably add some hot spices to the flour. Make sure you get lots of egg mixture and flour on it if you want a thick crisp crust. I also found I had to cook it longer than indicated, but that is probably just a variation in my oil temperature. I was so proud that I made such amazing fried chicken at home!

This is the first time I made Fried Chicken and this recipe was easy and not intimidating. The cup of hot sauce was fine and the chicken tasted delicious!

when i made this chicken the chicken tasted great but it seemed like the breading for it was so bland it made it not enjoyable. Did i do something wrong?

I wowed my family when I made this fried chicken. I used Lousiana Crystal Sauce for my hot sauce and canola oil to fry it in. I made all chicken thighs so my chicken took around 15-20 minutes in my dutch oven. I was pleasantly suprised at how much flavor was on the inside of the chicken and they all came crunchy but yet juicy on the inside. This recipe is a keeper!!

Tried this recipe a few weeks ago and my whole family loved it! Making it again with bits of chicken to have chicken nuggets. Super easy and a wonderful tasty crust. I highly recommend it!

This came out delicious! i had never made fried chicken before. This recipe was very easy, I used legs and thighs. They were juicy and tender and cooked perfectly. The only thing I did wrong was,I thought a cup of hot sauce was going to be to much so i used much less and i should have used the full amount because we couldn't taste the hot sauce . Otherwise this recipe is fantastic and i will be making it again but i will use all of the hot sauce the recipe calls for

My boyfriend wanted me to make fried chicken for dinner last night....I thought, well okay...I have never made fried chicken before I will give it a try.

I went online to see if I can find a recipe by Paula Deen. I found this one, made it and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was absolutely AMAZING....Irt was not too spicey, chicken was very...very tender, simply out of this world! My boyfriend is still raving about it, said we will never ever go to a KFC and buy fried chicken again....we both absolutely cannot get enough of this chicken.

Keep the recipes coming Paula and THANK YOU!!!

I have been cooking and loving it for years but had never made fried chicken before. After trying Paula's Southern Fried Chicken recipe for my friends and family, I will definitely make it over and over. I was a little fearful of getting the temperature of the oil right and sustaining that on my range with a pan, so I opted for my deep fryer, which I could set and maintain at 350 degrees. I took chicken breasts and sliced them into "fingers" and the chicken turned a perfect golden brown and ready to serve in 8-10 minutes. The meat was so tender, and everyone enjoyed the "mild bite" in the flavor of the batter. The finished product was light textured, and the hot sauce really does make the difference in the taste. I didn't use quite as much hot sauce as Paula suggested, fearing it might be too "hot" or spicy, but next time I will do it exactly as the recipe says. Will be fixing Paula's Southern Fried Chicken again... It was soooo easy and delicious, ya'all!
