This is absolutely my favorite way to use squash and zucchini!! It is so flavorful and easy!! I didn't use quite as much cheese, but the taste was still great!! This is a staple at our Thanksgivings!!

No, you do not add "ONE WHOLE CUP OF SALT."
Read the recipe carefully and you will see.

This is a tasty casserole! We made it only with zuccini, because that's what we had on hand. Delicious.

Do you really add ONE WHOLE CUP OF SALT? Is it me or does that seem like just a tad too much??

I made this casserole three Thanksgiving's ago. Now every Thanksgiving one of the first requested side dishes is Squash Casserole. I always add a little extra cheese and Ritz, you can't go wrong with that combo.

This is GREAT! It tastes JUST like my moms'. The only difference is that I use velveeta shredded cheese and velveeta sliced sandwich cheese instead of just one regular cheese. It gave it two elements of cheeses. And I added broccoli in with the squash.

    I LOOOOOOOVE IT!!!! :-D :-

I didn't use as much onion, and I think that to dry the squash she means PAPER towel, I put a paper towel in a collander then the squash and it worked out perfect....Very yummy and tasty! Cant wait to make it again!

We love zucchini (or coughette as the Dutch call it, so I am always happy to try a new squash recipes. I made this hot dish for dinner and my husband and I loved it. I followed the directions as stated and it was fairly simple to make. I just so happened to have a box of Ritz crackers on hand, as I brought it back my last trip home to the US. I found that placing the zucchini mixture in a strainer for a few minutes allowed all the juice to drain so it was not watery. The dish turned out delish and is now in my keeper file to alternate with my other squash recipes. Thank you Ms. Deen for a great recipe.

I found this casserole to be bland. Using a towel to squeeze out moisture was messy; there should be an easier way to do it.
