This dish was divine! I used shallots instead of onions and added about 2 tablespoons Cognac to the sauce - wonderful.

This is a very good quick version for "Steak Diane" and instead of keeping it on the stove top. I place the sauce & steaks in a pan in the oven and let it cook for about 15mins at a temp of 275....It is simply delicious, if you are not fond of butter then use less and it still turns out to be quite a delightful dish!

Way too much butter! The sauce was very watery, or rather, buttery, not thick at all. I deleted it out of my recipe box..will not be making it again.

I think I remember this show and she used 2 TBSP butter and some olive oil to the pan before adding the steak. It seems to me that the people on here that don't like as much butter could use only as much olive oil as necessary in place of the butter. I, myself, love the flavor that real butter adds to a steak recipe.

This is a delicious and very quick way to serve something that your family will be proud of:-
