I have made this four or five times. If the strawberries are sugared they get too sweet and make the pie runny. The custard however stays firm. No problem there. I just omit the sugar on the berries and go ahead like Paula does. It is a great pie. No fuss...easy..special. Everyone thinks it is cheesecake and berries.....

This pie could easily be a 5-star, but needs a few changes. Due to the brief, and a little confusing, directions, I went against my better judgment and sweetened the strawberries. Although I drained them before adding to the pie, the sugar coating continued to make juice which watered down the custard, cream, and crust. In addition, the sweetness of the berries made the pie too sweet. I intend to make the pie again, but will defintely omit the 1/4 cup of sugar and use the strawberries without sweetening. Hopefully, that will prevent the sogginess factor.

This pie is so easy and my friends and family finished the whole thing!! This one goes in the reciept box for sure. The only thing I did different was I waited just before serving to put my whipped cream on.This is a winner!!!

I love things that are quick and easy to make. I don't like standing up to long and cooking. I have 2 small kids and it is very hard to make a good meal every night. I started watching this show and I want to cook but it hard with to small kids.

I served this to company and there were no remarks bad or good. I think this is a so/so dessert. Followed directions exactly and the egg-sugar mixture was runny. Should have added more strawberries with the whip cream, would have been much better.
I won't make this again, she has much better recipes for dessert.

I only added a TBSP of sugar to the heavy whipping cream but, I added a teaspoon of vanilla...and for the strawberries...I did not add sugar to them at all.My pie was not soggy or runny at all. My youngest had three slices!

I tried this recipe from guessing ingredients because I didn't get everything on her first episode. It is absolutely delicious. I can eat the whole pie by myself.

I went exactly by the directions and let it sit in the refridgerator overnight but it turned into a horrible looking wet mess. No strawberries should be put on until ready to serve. The strawberry/sugar mixture just turns into juice and makes everything moist. There was no way to use a pie cutter, you had to spoon it out. I also got nervous about having the pie sit out for more than 10 minutes because of the raw eggs. I also didn't know what kind of "whipped cream" to use. I used the canned kind and that melted into the mixture as well I think. If you have to think that much about a recipe, forget it! My husband loved the flavor though.
