This recipe was wonderful. I was ify about the raw eggs myself, but it was great. I have also substituted the raw egg mixture with instant vanilla pudding and instant banana pudding (in two different pies. It was just as good. When I used the pudding I also omitted the sugar from the whipped cream to help balance out the sweetness. It was ooh so good.

This is a WONDERFUL recipe... don't let the fact that it SOUNDS too sweet sway you... it's PERFECT! Using fresh eggs should alleviate concerns about bacteria... you don't have to travel out to the farm, but shy away from eggs that are nearing their expiration date. In any event, a WONDERFUL and EASY pie!! It took me MAYBE 10 minutes to put together!

I whipped this up for some weekend guest. We loved it and it is easy to make. I did use Egg Beaters and it worked.

The creamy texture and sweet, strawberry flavor is a perfect compliment to nearly any cuisine. The entire pie was eaten in one sitting, and a request to make another.

I'm sure, like most of Paula's recipes, this one is also wonderful. I have a problem with eating raw egs - wonder if one could use cream cheese/powered sugar mixture instead of the raw eggs/butter mixture. Think I'll try this for Valentine's Day.
