Made this after seeing it on tv. Substituted apples for strawberries used honey crisp apples with some cinnomin and it turned out awsome. Cooking is so much fun

I loved this recipe. My husband ate leftovers from a pancake breakfast but this was so easy, I made it for myself. I think he was jealous. It took no time at all. By the time my sausage was cooked my french toast was done, with the tasty strawberry syrup to go with it. I used frozen whole strawberries that were easy to slice. I thought it would be too rich, but it wasn't. I will make this for my grandkids when we go camping.

I've never liked French toast but this recipe changed my mind. I would definitely make this again because it was a hit for a lovely Saturday morning breakfast. I changed the recipe by putting a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice of bread. I don't think the recipe was in any way diminished by my change!

Very good but the cream cheese is a bit tangy for the rest of the dish. I would add a smidgen of sugar or vanilla to the cream cheese - not a lot - just enough to offset the tanginess of the cream cheese. Do not use too much cream cheese. Also, helpful to use a bread with soft crust for when you pinch the 2 pieces of bread together. Also used blueberries - the flavor was more pronounce that the strawberries - which tended to get lost

What a great idea to make french toast a special meal for yourself or company. I love the strawberries and cream cheese inside which made it extra good.
