I've never liked French toast but this recipe changed my mind. I would definitely make this again because it was a hit for a lovely Saturday morning breakfast. I changed the recipe by putting a thin layer of cream cheese on each slice of bread. I don't think the recipe was in any way diminished by my change!

Very good but the cream cheese is a bit tangy for the rest of the dish. I would add a smidgen of sugar or vanilla to the cream cheese - not a lot - just enough to offset the tanginess of the cream cheese. Do not use too much cream cheese. Also, helpful to use a bread with soft crust for when you pinch the 2 pieces of bread together. Also used blueberries - the flavor was more pronounce that the strawberries - which tended to get lost

What a great idea to make french toast a special meal for yourself or company. I love the strawberries and cream cheese inside which made it extra good.

WOWWEEE! This recipe is awesome my husband loved it and so did I . How ever the recipe is exact so If your feeding a big family double everything you should have enough cream cheese one 8oz block if you double the egg mixture and bread, and strawberries enjoy.. "oh I just used our favorite maple syrup".

Awesome recipe! I made it for sunday brunch and everyone loved it. I changed it up alittle bit by substituting cinnamon raisin bread instead of the white bread. Delicious!

This recipe is wonderful. I have a very picky son, but he thought this was "quite tasty" and loved it. I did change the bread to sourdough french bread. I'm glad I made this change, it gave the french toast a very good flavor. I also was running out of time to make the sauce, so I took about a cup of strawberries and put them in a microwave bowl with pure maple syrup and heated it for a minute. It was delish! Make this recipe you will not be sorry! I so love Paula!

This recipe was great! Though I had to put a spin on it. I realized at the last minute that I didn't have any eggs to make french toast so I ended up making pancakes. I sliced up strawberries and pressed them into the pancake batter, then spread cream cheese in between. Fantastic! Another great recipe from Paula!
