I have been making this recipe for years but with one small twist: I omit the pineapple and add extra frozen strawberries. My family loves this so much that we joke about Strawberry Pretzel Salad being it's own food group! And it is especially tasty the next day for breakfast!! I know, I know... Some of you will say it is not healthy to eat it for breakfast... But tough tootsies! I'm gonna do it anyway! It's that good!

This is my all time favorite dessert, not only a dessert but sometimes I enjoy it as a small snack during the day. This has been a family tradition especially around Christmas time. Since I joined the military, I havent been able to get my mom's home cooking or her Strawberry Pretzel salad, so I turned to Paula Deens's recipe and made it for me and my fellow Firefighters at the Fire House on base. I had to greatly increase the servings greatly. I ended up making two big pans, and 1 and 1/2 were eaten at the Thanksgiving dinner, and the other have was put in the refrigerator and finished off by the end of the week. If you want something easy to make and taste great. This is definitely for you.

I made this for the first time for christmas dinner and everyone was a little hesitant because the name sounds odd. but it was DELICIOUS and everyone loves it! it was festive for the holidays but is also a perfect summer dessert. i've made it a few times since then and sometimes i double the middle cream cheese layer (because im a sweet- cream cheese fanatic. it will be a regular at family functions! man i love paula!

I made this for Thanksgiving. By the end of the night it was all gone. Everyone (kids & adults loved it! It is very easy to make. It was a little hard to get out of a pan because pretzels stayed in the pan, but not that hard. My family does not usually like sweet and salty mixed together but this was just perfect. *Make sure you use canned pineapple -not fresh or frozen because your jello will not set.

My husband's family has had this for years. I needed the recipe and found out it's a common dish and all over the internet... I confess I like Paula's recipe even more than my husband's family. I'd cut the middle layer ingredients in half though next time. Need to cut the sweetness by just a little bit, otherwise it's like just eating whipcream by the large spoonful.
