    It was a good recipe if your fresh cherries are getting ready to go bad. Would be good for a bbq or picnic dessert.

    Very good and easy recipe. I substituted fresh cherries and added the almond extract (great idea!. It turned out great. I think that cherry is our new favorite crisp as it has more flavor than apple, pear, or peach.

    Loved it!!! After reading reviews, I did add almond extract. Also, I baked in a 9x9 glass baking dish. Will definitely make again.

    Loved this recipe and so easy. I used one bag of frozen cherry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry mix from Trader Joe's and used a 9 X 9 pan. It came out perfectly.

    Maybe I got a bunch of not very tasty frozen cherries! Did not like the consistency and didn't have the pronounced flavor of cherries that I was expecting. Very dissappointed!

    This is my new favorite dessert. I did sub the sugar for splenda for the cherries and splenda brown sugar for the topping. My husband wanted more crunch so next time i will increase the quantities for the topping and to make mine more crisp after baking for 30 minutes i melted a little more butter and drizzled on top and put back under the broiler for about 3-4 min to make the almonds more toasted. Loved the fact that it was not overly sweet and the fruit and crunch were great.

    I made this as directed but added 1/2 tsp pure almond extract. It tastes good but did not turn out at all. The cherry mixture was too watery and the crumble topping fell into the cherry mixture making it chewy instead of a crisp top.

    The other person reviewing this recipe for Paula Deen's Cherry Crisp said it lacked flavor. After reading the recipe I think I would add 1 /2 tsp of Pure Almond Extract to kick it up a notch. Cherries and almonds are related. Give it another try, I think the Extract may be what you're looking for. Oh, the Almond Extract should go in the cherry mixture not the crisp.

    As suggested on the show- I made this healthier by using 1/2 splenda and 1/2 sugar for the cherries and used Splenda Brown sugar blend for the crust. The cherries were wonderful but I thought the recipe lacked flavor. I would make this again if I was in a huge bind and needed something low cal. Otherwise, I think I would pass.
