I knew this is a good one once I read the recipe. But when you actually try it, WOW!

If you like it sweet, the recipe requires additional sugar to mix in with the coconut. I did not add any sugar with my sweetened coconut since it is sweet enough for me.

These are easy to make, look beautiful on the plate, and taste absolutely wonderful. I made them for Thanksgiving dinner and ever folks that don't like sweet potatoes loved them! They were an instant favorite.

This is SO easy to make. I used 1/2 the sugar called for in the coconut b/c of the reviews I read. It was excellent, everyone and the table has requested it for Christmas dinner. My only suggestion. Make small balls. No larger than between a golf and tennis ball. If they are too large, you cannot serve them easily. They were a little soft so next time i might use OJ from concentrate instead of fresh squeezed. Another suggestion, lightly toast the coconut first so that it is toasty and has a bit more texture!

My hopes were too high I think. I usually love all of Paula's recipes, but this one was just okay... nothing special. I made these for a thanksgiving test run and they will not be making it to the dinner table for the holiday.

I was suprised there wasn't any butter called for the recipe. The potato balls tasted bland and I felt that there was to much orange zest.

I love this recipe. My aunt made it years ago. A friend made it easier by suggesting that we spray our hands with PAM or grease our hands a bit with Canola oil. The sweet potatoes get EVERYWHERE, especially under the nails.
