i made these tonight and my husband thought they were the best sweet potatoes he has ever had. they did not keep their shape after cooking but were ok to put on a platter and look good.

I fixed these last year for Thanksgiving and my 7 yr old nephew thought they were the greatest, and they were!

Anyone who has made this previously, is it necessary to bake these immediately before dessertt time? I was planning on making some and sending them to family who would be elsewhere...should I just prepare them and give them instructions on finalizing so that they're still gooey and delicious??

So after reading everyone's comments, and being 2 of us are diabetics I cut back on the brown sugar, regular sugar and used 2 mini marshmallows instead. I also rolled them in crushed praline pecans as I have a family member that can't have coconut. I also baked them for 13 minutes in a muffin pan. They came out good! I will definitely make again. You all just have to adjust the sweetness to your liking. My friend made the recipe as is and she and her family said they were way to sweet including her kids.

An interesting concept, and pretty on the plate as compared to the usual mound of potatoes, but like so many other cooks here, I feel it is just too sweet. Won't be making it again. Sorry, Paula.

Absolutely LOVE this recipe! I discovered this a few years ago and thought it would be something new and different for our annual family gathering at Thanksgiving dinner. Well everyone just devoured them! Came back for seconds! Even the ones that usually skip the sweetpotatos! Needless to say, it has become a staple for our holiday meals! Super easy to prepare, cook and delicious!

Paula my kids and grandkids loved these. They thought they were eating a cupcake. My oldest grandon who is three wanted more. And he loved helping me hide the marshmallows in the sweet potato. He loves to be in the kitchen with me and help me cook. Right now he evev likes to help me clean. He is most happy when he gets to eat something that he help prepare. Makes him so happy.
