I've been making this chile for more than a year. imo, it's a dead ringer for the fast-food with a "W" chile. I use very well-drained cans of dark red kidney and pinto beans and have cut the water to 2 cups. Also, I use 2 8-oz cans of tomato sauce so one of them can be no-sodium. I've also used low-sodium taco seasoning because this recipe is extremely high in sodium and cutting the added water in half would make it much too salty. It's delicious sprinkled with shredded sharp cheddar and diced onions.
(A little added sugar helps bring out the flavor, too.

This is delicious!!! Added some Chorizo to the ground beef and I changed out the dry beans and used canned Pinto and Black Bean, also a small can of corn. I did use less water and added just little bit of beer.

Very quick and easy to make. I used 20 oz. of ground turkey instead of 1# ground beef, didn't have minced onion flakes so I used fresh chopped onions and used canned beans and let me tell you ...... my family wents crazy over it! We haven't stopped talking about it since I made it 2 weeks ago and it's been requested several times since then. And since our Christmas meal is not a typical turkey or ham, they have requested I make it for Christmas as a extra meat dish! Thanks Paula, this one really hit a homerun!

This was soooo good. However I wish I would have used canned beans instead of dried. I am not sure if it was the beans that I used or what but they didnt seem to get as tender as I wanted and I cooked it all day. Also I didnt use all the water it called for it was too soup like less like a chili but it had amazing flavor.

This dish was amazing. We saw other comments about folks using less water so we did the same and it turned out awesome. We will definitely be making this chili again!!!

I was impressed with the amount of flavor the 2-hour cook time brings. We thoroughly enjoyed this on a very cold evening.
