We all enjoyed this salad, especially my second-grader. I did change it a bit by cutting down on the dressing and letting people add their own chips. I don't do the taco-flavored chips, but I offered some for those who do and also had Fritos available. I didn't want my meat to be too bland so I simmered it in the salsa. It was still too bland and didn't leave extra salsa for the top--something my hubby said would have made it better. Next time I'll use the taco meat from How To Boil Water, which is perfectly wonderful (if you take the time to let it simmer for the flavors to come together and will kick Paula's already great recipe up another notch. Love you, Paula!!!!

I made this salad in the morning and served it for dinner. It was awesome. I made a few adjustments to suit my families tastes by using only ortega medium taco sauce and crushed frito corn chips. I left out the catalina dressing. It was fantastic!

I make this for every event I am invited to and it's a hit.
The only thing I do differently is combine one-half Catalina dressing to one-half taco sauce and mix well.
Delicious!

My whole family absolutely loved it. The four of us ate the whole thing! I used a 1 1/2 lbs of beef and added some fresh garlic and a little onion to it. I also put out some sour cream for those who wanted it. Loved the catalina dsg. Definately a must have again...and it was so easy!

I found the recipe to be really easy to follow and very good tasting. I don't cook much but I love to do easy and quick meals for the time I do have to make something fast.
