Last night, my husband and I had some friends over for dinner. At first, I was going to use some store bought batter mix... but after watch Mrs. Deen, I decided that I'd check some recipes of hers to see if there was anything that I could whip up & make it just as good as she makes everything look!!! When I came across the recipe for the beer shrimp... I decided that it was worth a try!!! Needless to say... THERE AIN'T NO LEFTOVERS!!! Everyone LOVED IT!!! Mrs. Deen... Keep up the hard/GOOD work! You make cooking so fun!!! And the next time I'm in Savannah... I'll be stopping by your store to try your authenic "Beer shrimp"!!!

I was frantically looking for my mother's beer batter recipe and when I couldn't find hers I turned to the Food Network. Paula's version was right on the money and reminded me of home. I found it very easy to follow and the results were delicious!

I make this when I am in the mood for shrimp but too pressed for time to do much else. I am still waiting for one of Paula's recipes to miss but I must keep waiting. This was yummy!

Paula-thanks for this wonderful recipe. My husband and I also tried with scallops ( 5-6 minutes cooking time and oysters (the best we've ever had. All were excellent. By the way, we love seeing Jayme and Bobby on your show.........maybe they should have one of their own? You have great boys, very dedicated to their Momma!

This batter is more than enough for 1 1/2 lbs. of shrimp so the next time I will have some fish fillets ready to fry also. It was GREAT!

This recipe is the best! I have never tasted fried shrimp like this before, it's better than any resturant! Definately a keeper! Mine even looked like the picture, ha-ha!
