It was the simplest recipe I've ever tried but still oh so delicious and I had an excuse to finish off a beer early in the day . A true southerner never wastes the suds.

This was a very good recipe. But I modified it with a can a beer and fish fry.. I made it to a paste and let shrimp sat a minute in it then fried..as shrimp fried dropped the next set in mixture so it could coat good, it was a rich golden brown shrimp.. I picked the shrimp up with a spatula when ready to come out of grease to not break up the coating.. wonderful it was a hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was fortunate enough to have large, very fresh shrimp available so tried this recipe. The batter is somewhat plain, but very light and easy to make.

In response to Sonny from Indianola, MS--You are thinking about the "Black Pepper Shrimp." This recipe is for the "Beer-Battered Fried Shrimp." Both recipes are excellent!
