I get rave reviews for this recipe everytime I make it. I believe it's the best lasagna I've ever eaten...everyone who eats it says the same. I think the Gruyere and cream cheeses are what make this dish. I've also substituted smoked Gouda for the Gruyere and it is wonderful! Although not difficult, it does take a good bit of time to put this one together from scratch, but it is well worth it.

Just made this recipe for a little family get-together. This is the first time I made any lasagna, and some of them said it was the best lasagna they ever had; even one of the kids! The gruyere really stands out, and gives the lasagna a very rich taste. I'll definitely be making this again. Highly recommended. Paula never lets me down.

I made this lasagna for my sister and brother-in-law when they came to Atlanta from Boston. Their from the south too, but don't get a chance to eat southern food up in Boston. My brother in law ate three helpings and talked about it for two days after! I cut out the cottage cheese, just don't care for it, and it was still amazing. Although, as some people already pointed out, a little pricey because of all the cheese, but still worth it.

I love to make this lasagna. The sauce is time consuming to make, but worth it. It tastes sooo fresh. I make the sauce ahead and freeze it and then it cuts down on the prep time. This is truly a wonderful comfort food. My family loves it.

Excellent! Switched out ground beef for a mix of hot and mild Italian sausage. Thanks!

Unbelievable good! Better the next day and the day after if you're lucky enough to still have leftovers.

A cheap way to get the Gruyere and Swiss is to get it from the deli counter. Get .25 lb and it will cost you less than 5 bucks for both cheeses. I have them cut it thick and just grate all the slices together at one time (usually the slices stick together if they don't put plastic between them. This is a great way to save money on expensive cheese for any recipe you make. I do this for Mac & Cheese too.

WOW! It never surprizes anyone anymore when I make a great dish like this-that it is a Paula Dean recipe! Fantastic cheese and sauce flavors. Easy too. I will cut back on the salt just a bit for my liking. Thank you Paula-AGAIN ;
