This was the BEST lasagna I have ever eaten! I have searched for years for a recipe for lasagna that will give people eating it the "look" of sheer pleasure. Well, I found it in this recipe!!!!! I did modify it a bit. I used 1 lb of sweet Italian sausage and 1/2 lb of ground beef instead of all ground beef. I substituted ricotta for the cottage cheese. I also used Barilla no boil Lasagne (rolled flat like homemade. Since I used the no boil lasagne I covered it with tinfoil during the first part of baking and increased the initial bake-time to 40 minutes. Also, after I added the mozzarella (used whole milk as it melts the best I baked it for close to 20 additional minutes (instead of 15 in order to get that nice roasted cheese topping. This dish was by far the most flavorful, creamy lasagna I have ever eaten. This is the ONLY lasagna recipe I will ever again use.

PEOPLE, you do NOT add 1 1/2 cups of salt to this recipe. She just gives the recipe for her "HOUSE SEASONING" and all the ingredients that make the "house seasoning" yields 1 1/2 cups.

Oh. My. GOSH! This was amazing. Best lasagna I've ever had; even beat the lasagna my husband and I ate on our honeymoon in Italy!! The Gruyere cheese is expensive (about $7.35 for a small package but totally worth it. The flavor was to die for! Another great recipe from Lady and Sons, THANKS PAULA! :-

I made this dish for my mother-in-law's birthday this past August. The WHOLE family was there. inlaws, outlaws, grandparents, great-grandparents, everyone. I followed the recipe exact and it was wonderful. Even some of the ones that said "I don't like Lasagna" went back for seconds. It is a recipe I plan to make over, and over.

Yummmmmmmmmy! I used smokey cheddar/swiss instead of just Swiss and an extra cup of Gruyere cheese, made this dish so good! I did add the cook's note to thinken the sauce. This was a favorite and probably the best I've had or made.

Sorry Paula...it just didn't work for me. Way too cheesy. Had to eat it with a spoon...just like soup. Went exactly by the recipe but something failed to work.
