I just made this recipe yesterday for my family's Thanksgiving dinner. The recipe for the batter was way off. There is way too much liquid. I just added more self rising flour until I got the batter to a better consistency. I agree with gwashington1961 who mentioned adding 1 tsp of vanilla to the batter. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any fresh peaches but the canned peaches in this recipe actually turned out ok. Just be careful with how much syrup you drizzle across the top.

Bad, gummy, cooked it for 1-1/2 trying to get it to cook, it was awful, so disapointing.

This recipe is way off. 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup self rising flour and 3/4 milk is the correct recipe from Paulas Just Desserts cookbook

A quick, easy cobbler to please the whole family! Using self-rising flour is a 'new' method for me. I am used to going by the standard old-fashioned flour in making the crust for my cobblers. This is a 'new' method for me to try getting used to. The taste is good, yet I'm going to have to try a 1/4 tsp. of nutmeg on top of the cinnamon already sprinkled onto the dish. I also think I'll be adding 1 tsp. almond & 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring to the peaches after they have cooked down, before baking. And, I'll add 1 tsp. vanilla to the sugar, flour, milk mixture before adding it to the melted butter. Just before removing the Cobbler [whatever kind of fruit I use], I will sprinkle roughly a single Tbsp. of white sugar on top of the nearly finished crust. I will return it to the still hot oven for an additional 5 mins. When I take it out to serve, it will be beautiful and tasty!

Paula you & your Son's make and serve deliciousness at your restaurant! Thank you, very much!

Girl friend, it is so good. Best cobbler I have ever made or ate. I used 2 cans of 15 oz peaches, boited them w/ 1/3 cup sugar. Very surprized it was as good as it was.

I was very disappointed with this recipe! At first I was so excited to make this because the directions were so simple. I did not read the reviews until after I realized that in the recipe, it says to add 2 cups of milk versus the 3/4 cup it says to add in the video. Also the amount of sugar and I believe self rising flour were different than in the video. Basically, I followed the recipe on the page( not on the video to a T and it turned out to be a mess, to say the least:/

Per the reviews(and I always tweek the recipes a little, I reduced the milk to a little over 3/4 cup, and added sugar to the fresh 5 large ripe peaches (about 1/8 cup of brown sugar and flavorings(almond and vanilla in the peaches, vanilla in the crust. I am more of a crust person, but it was too much crust and it was not sweet enough. The peaches had a good flavor, just needed more juice. Instead of 1 cup of water, next time I am going to use 2 to boil the fresh peaches. I am giving this reciepe a low rating because the crust had a good texture between the top of the crust and the peaches, just not sweet enough. Thumbs down!
