This was super easy. Great for a church luncheon, etc. I like a bit more breading in my cobbler, so I increased the flour, sugar, and milk to my liking. When it was almost done, I sprinkled raw sugar on top. That made it look even better! My oven took more than 45 min. to bake. It was about 1 hour.

I did not like this recipe whatsoever. Self rising flour is not carried in my grocery store, so I had to use baking powder and salt according to websites telling how to make self rising flour and it still turned out runny and super greasy.

I used 1c of Almond milk instead of regular milk, 1.5tsp of baking powder, since I didn't have self rising flour, and a squirt of honey because I was out of brown sugar. One note, this took way longer than 45 mins, closer to 65 mins, to cook. I'm not sure if it was because of the almond milk, or because I have a gas oven. This turned out great! Sweet and delicious!! I will be making this again! Paula is the best!

This is delicious and easy. I took other's comments on the amount of milk to add to the batter (I used 3/4 cup only and it turned out perfect. I was a bit confused at first about the sugar and water amounts since the 1 cup water/sugar used to prepare the peaches were not included in the overall ingredient list. It should read 1 3/4 Cup Water - divided, etc. Other than that initial confusion, the recipe went very well overall. A big hit!

I've made this recipe many times and I've always gotten rave reviews - simple and easy to follow, loved the tip one reviewer gave about adding 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to each cup of flour used if you can't find self-rising flour. I use peaches with lite syrup to cut back on some of the calories but this is wonderful - Thanks Paula :

My family and friends love this recipe. Every time I have made it, it's been gone within one hour because everyone just can't get enough of it. In fact, I am lucky if I get a little at all : Thanks, Paula, for your amazing recipes that my family just can't get enough of!

I made this dish for Thanksgiving and it was a success. I made a few changes though. The recipe seemed to have to much liquid. I did not add a full cup of milk and I did not add all of the liquid from the peaches. It would have been way too soupy. I added enough milk for my mixture to have the consistency of pancake batter. I also added cinnamon to the batter mixture for flavor.

Easy and delicious. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter to give it more flavor.

I was beyond disappointed in this recipe. I actually have The Savannah Country cookbook from The Lady and Sons. This recipe is the very last one in the book; I've made it many times and it is fabulous! Today, however, I couldn't find my cookbook so I went searching online. I came across this one and figured it was the right one. As it happens, by the time I realized something was horribly wrong with my cobbler (and hence this recipe, of course I found my cookbook. The original recipe calls for 1 cup sugar and only 3/4 cup of milk. No, it's not much of a difference, but it drastically changed the outcome. I normally just use a 15 oz can of peaches and it works great. Today, not at all. I was making it to take to a dessert fellowship at our church and all I can say is that I'm glad nobody really knew who had brought it. So I will be making a copy of the page in my cookbook for those times I can't find the book!
