You must mix the liquids very, very well

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I've made this about a dozen times now & get a much better recipe if I thoroughly mix the milk, eggs, sour cream, butter. ... Also, you have to thoroughly mix the slighlty under-cooked macaroni with the grated cheese very well. It takes about 4 extra minutes and the outcome is magnificent!! Take your time & you'll be pleased. When I don't mix the liquids well - I get pieces of egg or an egg casserole like a few people posted that they did not like in this recipe. Mix things better & you'll be pleased. Read more

    Basically good...

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
The guts of this recipe were good, though I took others advice and only used 1 egg, and used sharp cheddar cheese. I added a... little ground mustard and paprika for some flavor and it turned out very good. I could see how it could be bland without the little extras.Read more

A Faster and cheesier way of making it

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
This recipe gave me my own idea of a new way to make macaroni and cheese. I read the comments and altered the way of making... it. Instead of using eggs or baking the mac, I did the whole thing stove top. I used cream cheese instead of sour cream and to replace the sourness of the sour cream I used some Feta. I also used cheddar cheese, lots of it, and some parmesan cheese as well. I used garlic pepper and paprika and I would say if you have fresh parsley mix it in too for some refreshing bite to it.Read more

    Try adding Velveeta!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
we make this recipe but make it even better by adding in a 1/2 block of velveeta (large) or one whole small size... makes it... a lot creamier, still add 1 cup of shredded cheese in it and sprinkle some on top as well. this is the one recipe that is always requested of me at family functions!Read more

Great as-is, but better with more moisture!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I love this recipe. First, 4 cups of macaroni means 4 cups COOKED macaroni, so buy the 16oz package. Second, either reduce... the macaroni and eggs by 1/3 or increase the moisturizing ingredients by 1/3. Otherwise, it's just too dry and eggy for my taste. Also, don't cook the macaroni thoroughly - just al dente. This way, it will soak up the sauce nicely and won't be overdone after it's baked. I've received rave reviews when I've made this recipe, and numerous people have asked me for it or requested that I make it for gatherings. It's so easy and tasty!Read more

    Not too bad

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I'm wondering if some of you are making too much pasta with this dish. The recipe calls for 4 c cooked. Which means it's 2... c dry. The recipe should just state 2 cups elbow macaroni. It will be 4 c cooked when its done. Grant it, it's still very eggy and I cut an egg or two out and add different cheeses. What I like, it's not very costly and very easy to throw together. Add some garlic powder or salt , dry mustard and it'll add more flavor.Read more
