My mom is a Paula Dean nut and is always trying her recipes (my mom is an excellent cook in her own right. She served this with caesar salad one Sunday evening for our family, and we all loved it! I'm going to make it for some friends visiting soon.

This recipe is convenient by being simple, inexpensive and very satisfying. I have three sons and my picky two year old ate and drank everything in his bowl. My husband and my eight year old went back for seconds and they prefer to dip their crusty bread into the soup (my two year olds favorite part. I think you should have pecan pie for desert to top off the night. I recommend Sara Lee's Southern Pecan Pie (The Best

When it gets cold in Oregon it really gets cold. We don't get much snow, but tons of rain. This soup really hits the spot and is so quick and easy to fix. Soup, Cornbread and we're all set to weather the cold.

I just made a pot and made it exactly as directed except I used only 1/2 cup of half and half to save on calories, and WOW is it good! I know everyone is going to love it tonight! It is cold here and this soup is fantastic.

I honestly didn't think I'd like the sherry or parmesan in the soup, but they both add so much delicious flavor, I can't imagine this soup without it! Absolutely wonderful soup. All of our picky eaters loved it. Absolutely delicious. Is there anything Paula can't make? Try it, you'll love it.
