We made this per the recipe. It was the worst baked macaroni and cheese we ever made.
Instead of being called a baked Mac & Cheese, it should have been called a Macaroni Frittata. Way too scrambled eggy! The flavor was bland. Another reviewer gave it more stars, but only because she used only 1 of the 3 eggs specified in the recipe. I agree that would help the recipe, but I repeat - it was bland.

Absolutely terrible! I was so excited to make this mac & cheese, went to Trader Joe's awesome cheese case to purchase all of the cheese's...what a let down of a recipe and $! If you do decide to make this, please add some American cheese and some Velveeta! This is terrible!

No rave from me on this recipe. Not enough salt and pepper. The sour cream and all of these cheeses melted together, make for a hot mess and hardly any taste. Definitely, not worth the cost. Sorry Paula, this one is a bummer.

I use whatever cheese I have on hand. I agree that only one egg or maybe two are needed. I put a crusty crumb topping made of panko, butter and garlic powder and this makes the recipe much taster. It is so high in fat that I seldom make it but it is yummy. The Lady and Sons cheesy mac recipe is really good and we think is better.

Very tasty but I changed the cheeses and prefer 3 instead of all entire list. I used swiss, shapr cheddar and mozarella. It was a hit with the family. I prefer it without the sour cream though.

Did anyone at foodtv taste this recipe before putting it up on the website? I thought it was incredibly bland, and that was after adding the salt, pepper, mustard powder and curry. I kept tasting it and it was incredibly bland. I keep looking for a creaky -- not drippy -- mac and cheese recipe and I thought this would be it. NOT. Reading other's reviews I need to understand better what makes something custardy vs. creamy. I'll go back to my mom's for Xmas.

I have cooked this several times in the past 2 years. I am cooking this again tomorrow for Thanksgiving because everybody loves it. When I originally made this recipe and saw that it needd 3 eggs, I decided not to use 3 eggs I only used 1 egg and it turned out delish. I think 3 eggs make it too custard like. Overall I absolutely love this recipe!!!!

Well it is a baked custard/casserole style mac and cheese. the combination of of the eggs and milk tell you right away that this will not be creamy it is the same mixture/chemistry to make custard style dishes...the only way I see to make it creamy is to drastictly reduce the number of egg if not take them away completely... I use the recipe for Potlucks ( baked casserole style dishes are always popular at these events I triple the recipe and use half the milk with the other half being butter milk. I also saute a pound of applewood bacon with minced garlic and mix that in (it gives a great piggy favor. I top it with some cheese and then add som panko that has been mixed in a small amount of reduced butter to give it a golden top (under the broiler for a couple of minute or a small torch. It is a big hit but again not creamy. It does say the recipe has been altered from the video. Paula must leave out the egg or do something different???
