EVERYONE LOVED IT!!! I will agree that it did taste a little like a breakfasty...so I partially boiled 4 cups of frozen hashbrowns and drained them, and added cooked sausage. I also used just cheddar cheese to make it cheap and easy. IT WAS A GREAT BREAKFAST DISH!!!

This is a huge disappointment. It is very greasy and over rich. The butter is not needed at 4 tablespoons. I was surprised because I expected the M & C to be delicious. I am discarding 4/5 of the dish. Sorry.

The 6 eggs didn't sound right, but I trusted the recipe. It ended up like scrambled eggs and macaroni, didn't even taste the cheese. Lots of $$$ spent for that wasted cheese. Good thing I didn't make it for a special meal.

I made this last Sunday for dinner before reading the reviews. Fortunatly, I doubled the reciepe, with the exception of the eggs. I still used six eggs, but everything else I doubled. I just couldn't fathom using a dozen eggs. I also added a little more cheese. And baked it with swiss cheese slices on top. It was delicous. Definetly recommend. It fit perfectly in a pyrex lasagna dish and was a huge hit.

I read the reviews before my attempt with this recipe. As some reviews said, Paula called for SIX eggs ...Yes, you are right, that is a huge amount of eggs... if you are using the hormone enhanced eggs from the grocery - of course you will have cheesy eggs with 6 large/extra large eggs! Six small eggs worked just fine. As for the comments about the cost of ingredients? Recipe's are a jumping point - I used provolone, mild, and sharp cheddar. Could you imagine how boring the food network would be if they were concerned about the cost of ingredients? This made great mac and cheese - the sour cream added that extra tang. THANKS PAULA.

After seeing everyone else's reviews, I wanted to avoid the scary omelette, so I used 1 egg, and added 1/2 cup of milk extra to replace the 5 eggs I didn't use. It turned out great, although even after 45 minutes of baking, I tried a corner, and there was a ton of liquid on the bottom, so maybe I should've kept with the 1 cup of milk the recipe calls for because I needed to stop baking or my top would have burned. I also added some garlic powder and onion powder in the milk mixture, which added great flavor. I see a lot of recipes that call for onions and garlic and I'm sure they taste great but I feel like it ruins the texture and isn't mac n' cheese anymore, so this gave me the taste while staying traditional and it was so yummy!
