worth it for how simple it is. i've made it twice and will make it again. only one substitution- if you haven't had wax beans before test them before you dump them in, i didn't care for them. Instead, I used a can of lentils and that was a way better choice.

I recently took on cooking as a new hobby, and came across this recipe last night. I have to say, for it's simplicity and preparation time, the salad was sensational! I followed the recipe for the most part, disregarding the four hours of marinating. I was only able to get in two and a half hours, but the result was still near perfect. It's been in the fridge marinating all night, so now I can't wait to eat the leftovers and see what it's really suppose to taste like! I would whole-heartedly reccomend this dish to anyone who is looking for an easy side. Way to go Paula!

I did make a couple of minor changes to the recipes, but nothing that strays too far from the original idea. I omitted mushrooms because I'm not a big fan, cut back on the greek seasoning a little (first ingredient was salt so I didn't want it to be too salty, and used frozen green beans instead of canned. I definitely think using frozen instead of canned is the way to go. I guess that's all up to individual tastes but I have a very strong dislike for canned green beans and I don't think any amount of rinsing and marinating would fool me! But the flavors are all dead on. Really love the red bell pepper. Gives it a great bite and nice texture.

Paula was so right. This was inexpensive, quick to make and didn't taste canned after it was marinated. I don't like the usual sweet three bean salad so this vinegar and herb dressing was perfect. I used herbs from my cabinet to make the Greek seasoning by the suggestion of other reviewers.

Paula's recipes always cut straight to the chase -- simple, good food with a lot of taste for a modest amount of effort.

Usually love Paula's stuff. This was horrible. Took one bite and threw it away without serving. Way too much seasoning.Very disappointing.

I really enjoy that people give tips and hints for tweaking recipes here. A lot of times I don't like one ingredient and someone offers a good suggestion for another option. Or sometimes they just give tips for making a recipe turn out better. I love all the suggestions that people make. It really helps me to learn.

I make a lot of three bean salads, and this one tops them all. I'd never heard of Greek seasoning, so found a recipe for it on the 'net and made that. Tasting the salad immediately after mixing it made me think it was too sharp, but the four hour chilling made all the difference in the world. There's much to be said for allowing flavors to "marry". I'll be making this one frequently.
