Ingredients

  • 1 (17.6-ounce) package brownie mix with walnuts
  • Vegetable oil cooking spray
  • 3 (6-ounce) candy bars with almonds and toffee chips (recommended: Symphony brand)

Directions

Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions.

Line a 13 by 9-inch cake pan with aluminum foil and spray with vegetable oil cooking spray. Spoon in half of the brownie batter and smooth with a spatula or the back of a spoon. Place the candy bars side by side on top of the batter. Cover with the remaining batter.

Bake according to package directions. Let cool completely, then lift from the pan using the edges of the foil. This makes it easy to cut the brownies into squares.

    Crowd Pleaser!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I make these brownies all the time, and NEVER have any leftovers! Even my picky girlfriends who claim they don't eat dessert... can't resist these! I have a hard time making one box of brownie mix stretch to 13x9 pan. I now use a 8x8 and make them thicker. I bake them on the convection setting in my oven and they turn out perfect every time.Read more

    Another Paula Hit!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
These brownies were a big hit at my last dinner party. They were so simple to make and so very delicious! I absolutely adore... Paula being a southern girl myself. And to the comment from "not so awesome" the recipe strictly states only 1 box of brownie mix to be used and I never follow the package directions for cooking times I always time it for less and then cook it a little longer when I can tell they are the right consistency. A true cook knows how to tell when something is ready. Not every oven cooks the same you should give them another whirl and this time check them before the timer goes off!Read more

    So Good BUT----------

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This recipe is so good BUT I wish that Paula would stop sticking her fingers in her food and then not washing her hands.

    LOVE THESE BROWNIES!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
We love, Love, LOVE these brownies. I do however, use 2 boxes of the brownie mix, and make them both cake-like. They are... delicious, and I hardly EVER have any leftovers! Thanks, Paula!Read more

    Wonderful Brownines

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I think some of the problems with the amount of candy bars is that they make a large 4.25 oz. bar and a even larger 6.8 oz. ... Bar. I grabbed the smaller one the first time and four would fit With the larger, three is plenty! ThanksRead more
