The great thing about these brownies is that it IS JUST a box of brownies. But, you add the extra special touch of the candy bars and it makes box brownies taste like homemade. My family loved them and I make them for all of our family gatherings now. No one knows how simple it is to make them.
For Christmas, we use regular Hersheys candy bars and crushed perppermint candies in the center.
The perfect brownie recipe!
Thanks Paula!

I'm a chocoholic from way back, so to me there's no such thing as too much chocolate. I loved this recipe, and I will never make brownies another way again! I have made these on several occasions now and everyone always loves them! Thanks, Paula, for another wonderful recipe!

Death by chocolate?? No, death by BROWNIES!! I've never cared too much for cake or pie, but brownies have always been my weakness. After seeing the Tailgating episode that featured these brownies, I knew I had to try them.
These are without a doubt the BEST brownies I've ever had!! The original recipe is outstanding (I used 2 boxes of brownie mix instead of one
BUT,being creative I had to try my own version!
Over the candybars I put a layer of toffee bits (sold in bags next to the chocolate chips Once out of the oven, I put caramel sauce on top.
And, I used a tub of Cool Whip and chopped up butterfingers when ready to serve. YUM!!!
.....my next batch I'm going to put miniature marshmallows on top ot the candy bars, I'll let you know how they turn out!!

I made these this past Saturday .... I altered the recipe to regular large size candy bars opposed to the ones with Toffee. OMG ......I have 7 kids and they were running around the house in a frenzy " are they cool yet , are they cool yet ". We had to let it cool overnight ... so the little darlins wanted them for breakfast... They got them for snack after lunch and each and every one of the kids loved them.
This recipe is a keeper.... for my cookbook and my thighs lol

I make this with two boxes of brownie mix, use the cake (not fudgie way to prepare, put the candy bar layer between them. Then turn out on a plate, frost with store bought milk chocolate frosting all over, drizzle caramel sauce over that, then grate one more candy bar over that. Serve with good vanilla ice cream - sinful!

These are so good, it's sinful. I've made them twice. The first time I made them in the 9x13 pan, and they were good, this time I made them in a 9x9 pan and they were even better. I reccommend using a 9x9 pan or if you want to use the 9x13 pan then use the 2 boxes as someone stated before. You will not be dissappointed.

Wow! These are the best brownies. So rich, chewy and chocolatey. They are not for someone watching their calories though. They were easy to make. I only used one big Symphony Toffee Bar and a small bag of toffee bits. They came out soooooo good. Thanks again Paula for a great dessert. These are going to definitely be requested again.

These are SOOOO good! I needed these to have at a party, so I dressed them up a little with white chocolate icing with a little almond extract stirred in and then chopped up more candybars on top, and everyone went nuts over them. Same results when I took them to church. This is one for the recipe file for sure.
