Paula, you did it again! This was a smash at my house even though my husband wasn't too sure about a tomato pie. Enen my boys loved it. Thanks for a great side dish with ATTITUDE! The left-overs were just as good today warmed in the Microwave. I will let the tomatoes drain just a bit longer next time. You are my favorite chef and I can't wait to me you...God bless. Linda

your tomato pie receipe is good but try adding crisp, fried and crumbled bacon. I also use parmesian cheese instead of mozzerella.

I have made this numerous times and every time it's a hit! The fresh basil is what makes it taste so great! I always use about 8 Roma/Plum tomatoes...they seem to work best. I have also found that the bags of shredded cheese are the perfect amount of cheese - 2 cups exactly - and you can buy the cheddar/mozarella blend! It is perfect! Wonderful recipe!

The pie was delicious, however it was soggy at the bottom. Put you warned me of this on the show. I drained the tomatoes from 15 minutes and even blotted on a paper towel? What happened?
