Woops. Sorry for that last post regarding top crust. I enlarged the picture and see that it
is not crust. It is the cheese mixture. It was delicious even though I put a top crust on!!!
Other than that, I followed the recipe and it is wonderful.

I layer the tomatoes, fresh basil & mozzerella, and top w/ half the mayo and I use a top crust. This is a Wonderful addition to any brunch or lunch menu. Delicious! Who knew? If I would ever add anything, it would only be fresh mushrooms. yummmmm that would take it over the top!

I have made this before and it's so good with fresh tomatoes in the spring and summer. I do make a couple of changes(use biscuits instead of pie crust cooked half way first, 1/2 a cup of mayo and only use 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese Also, I add a little italian seasoning on top of the tomatoes and onions before putting the mixture on top. I've had people who hate tomatoes love this pie!!

This pie was delicious! I only gave it four stars because I made a lot of changes, so I can't say for sure how the original tastes, but I bet it is amazing. I can for sure say this recipe is a great starting place for you to play with. I added a layer of spinach as well as come poultry seasoning between the called for basil and tomatoes.
Like many others I used 1/2 the mayonnaise called for in the recipe, but I truly detest mayo, in fact, I am surprised I like it at all, but I am glad I gave this a try, I'll be making this for years to come!

I just made this pie and it is wonderful! The flavors of the different herbs just burst inside your mouth. I did use some chopped chives and oregano leaves in addition to the herbs suggested. I wish I had read the reviews prior to me preparing my pie. I would have used less mayo or even light mayo. Overall this is a great recipe for anytime of the year!

I followed this recipe to a "t". I thought it had way too much mayo, well it did for me anyhow. I will make it again with half the mayo and 1 cup of cottage cheese. I just dont like the taste of hot mayonaise. I am still giving it a 4 because the idea is great and the pie was much better cold the next day.

OMG! Just served Paula Deen's Tomato Pie with my All-in-one Breakfast Bake at brunch with my daughters today. The pie was to die for! Each wanted the recipe. It is sooo light and also easy to make.
