I made this for Thanksgiving last year but the brownie recipe came out cake like and dry so I dumped those and make some box brownies and continued on and it was outstanding!!!!!!!!! I am getting ready to make this again but will make the box brownies instead (Duncan Hines triple chocolate.

OUTSTANDING!!! this is so good it made me go off my diet, i made this for my mom. she loved it! you also need to cook it in a 9x13 for 50 minutes. someone needs to make a note on the recipe so everyone can enjoy it. thanks paula.

I didn't make the trifle, but I was looking for a good brownie recipe.. And my apologies but this was a terrible one. I used a 9x13 pan and baked the brownies for about 40 minutes. They came out cake-like and tasted chalky and unappealing. Sorry, but I will not be trying this recipe again.

I made just the browine part of this recipe yesterday. DELICIOUS. My only problem was that I should have used a deeper 9" pan as some of the batter ran over the sides and it took much longer than the 35 minutes recommended to bake. I baked it almost an hour and still had some goo in the center. Will definitely make them as a brownie again and will also try the whole recipe.

I made this for thanksgiving and know I am requested to make it for every family function. It brings me joy to know I did a well done job. I was searching all over the place for the perfect trifle bowl. I drugged my finance to serveral thrift stores. Finally finding it at Wal-Mart for 6.98. Thanks Paula. I am always watching you. My dream is to have you visit Dallas, Tx one day soon when I get my resturant up and running. God bless you!

Took this dessert to a dinner party and it was a hit!! I changed it a bit by using ghiradelli box brownies, which were great. Also, I halved the reciped for the pecan sauce. It worked out perfect! HIghly recommend this recipe!

Very sweet and rich...you need a big glass of water after just a couple of bites! I served after Thanksgiving so it was a little too heavy but very well received. The corn syrup recipe was tasty but could have been left out to make it less sweet. Maybe try a caramel sauce and mix pecans in instead....? (I cheated and made brownies from a box...just as good but don't take short cuts with Cool Whip. Real whipped cream is always the best!

I bought a Paula Deen magazine a couple years back around the holidays and found this recipe inside. It was a bit different such as she suggested using chewy fudge brownies (1 box instead of this homemade recipe. Faster and definitely easier. The sauce was easy to make and should only have 1 cup of the nuts. I made the same mistake of adding too many the first Christmas, though to no complaints. I love the presentation and it is always a crowd pleaser. I am currently making it for Canadian Thanksging dinner tonight! We moved up here from Texas last years so it's nice to have a little taste from the South!

I was disappointed with the out come. I took the advise of one of the readers that said the sauce recipe took all 3 cups of the nuts. I did that but when the sauce cooled it was much too thick, I do wish that they , meaning the Food Network would check these recipes before putting them on line.
