Ever since a trip to Italy several years ago, I have been searching for a delicious Pasta Carbonara that didn't require so many unusual items. This recipe not only rated highly with me, but with my husband and young adult children. In fact, my son recently moved out and came home today and asked for this recipe! Perfect with a green salad, crispy bread and a spice red wine!

Paula Deen your recipes never fail to amaze me...I was really hesitant to make this dish first cuz of the mixed reviews and second of the egg factor I was scared of having gross lumpy eggs but this dish turned out B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L and DELICIOUS!!! Thank you to the person who recommended adding shrimp OMG it was a great addition to the bacon...I will for sure be making this once a month...

This dish is so simple to make and so good. I throw one pound of fresh raw peeled medium shrimp into the pan and cook them before I add the spaghetti. Never thought of spinach which I also love. Will try it that way next time.

this is delicious. serve it with a salad so you won't eat too much of it.
anything is fine in moderation. if you read the recipe and saw the ingredients then why did you make the dish if you're just going to complain about it?

I've made this recipe before. I used thick bacon , nutmeg, and 1/2 and 1/2. I doubled the sauce to the amount of pasta. I've added fresh spinach, chicken, etc... It's easy and versitile. The kids love it.

Don't get me wrong I liked this dish but when I put the first bite into my mouth and swallowed I thought I was going my heart was going to give out. I like bacon onions and pasta but when added together with cream it doesn't come together somewhat well, it kind of didn't have a taste to it

My husband loves pasta, so i thought that i would try this recipe for something a little different. Although it was good, i expected more. I thought it would be more "saucey" in a sence and it wasn't. We still ate it and had a good mean, but i will admit that i was disappointed with the recipe's outcome.
