This was a great hit with the family!! Didn't have any granny smiths but I used red delicious that I peeled instead. Also I was out of honey for the glaze so I substituted pancake syrup. It all worked out great!! Thanks Uncle Bob!!

This was simply outstanding!!! People who felt that it was dry probably used wrong apples or too little of them. Cake was done in 1hr 20 min. Followed instructions, just used a bit less sugar. Next time I will be making this with 1 cup of sugar instead of 2, and 1tsp of cinnamon instead of 2. I felt that cinnamon overkilled flavor of the cake. This would be excellent with plums, raspberries or dried fruit. Thanks for great recipe!

This is a delicious cake! Very moist! My husband loves it for breakfast before going to work. I did not make the glaze, nor did I use Granny Smith apples, and it was still yummo!

The cake was excellent. For personal preference I substituted butter for the oil and brown sugar for the regular sugar and it was great. A heavy cake but moist and delicious.

I thought it was very good. It was, of course a better the next day. Not sure why people are getting a "dry" cake. Sound like operator-error.
Will make this again soon, though I think it cries out to have holes poked in it a little booze-soaking or may add some bourbon soaked raisins!!!

This was the worst cake I ever made. It was like sawdust inside and the outside was hard. The recipe says bake for an hour and a half - I checked it at an hour and it was way over done. I followed the recipe to the letter, except I used three apples. I tried one piece and couldn't eat it. I threw the whole thing out. I can't figure out how some people got such a moist cake.

It was a little dry. Had good flavor, but I prefer a moister cake when it is this dense

Oh. my. gosh. I loved this! It was delicious! I didn't have any nuts and decided to skip the honey in the icing. Perfection.

Made this cake for my husband to take to work and it was a huge hit! Transported cake with icing on the side and iced it there. It disappeared within minutes.
