Sweet, moist and I liked crunch outside. I probably want some more apple flavor but this cake was great!

I made this cake today. Used 4 Granny Smiths!!! YUMMMMMY Make it and enjoy. The honey in the glaze makes a wonderful difference in it.

I made this cake and it was very good. It is a dense, moist cake that traveled well for our family reunion. I followed the recipe, only added more toasted chopped walnuts on top. I will definitely make it again.

I made this out of Paula's cook book and it didn't have the honey glaze, but even that couldn't save it from the trash can. Very dry
and I baked it 10 min. less than called for. Also very bland!! This is the 1st time we didn't like one of Paula's recipes.

This cake was sooooo good! I added 1/2 cup less sugar and 1/2 less butter. It still tasted delicious! It goes perfect with a cup of coffee. I will deffinitley make it again!

Super yummy! As others recommended, I swapped out 1/2 of cup of sugar & replaced with light brown sugar. I only dusted top with powdered sugar. It cake was plenty sweet for us.

Amazing taste!!! I had to make this cake in a bundt pan. I wish I had made a double batch of icing, though. The one batch was soaked right into the cake. It didn't lay on it all pretty like the picture shown. The outer layer was a little dry, but it was even better the next day after the icing had a chance to soak in a little bit. Made this for a family party and everyone raved about it!

Even though I cut down on the sugar to 1 1/2 cups, it was too sweet. One cup would have been perfect. I also used only one cup of oil, which was plenty. I omitted the glaze, surely didn't need any additional sweetness.
I also added a little ground nutmeg and lemon juice to the apples so they wouldn't brown. I would probably make this again, but with my tweaking.

We love this cake at our house. I made it right after watching Paula and Uncle Bob fix it on her show. I even froze half of it and it was just as good as fresh baked. I made it again today and plan to make it many more times in the future. Thanks Paula and Uncle Bob. P.S. The only thing I did this time was to peel my apple, other than that the recipe is perfect and doesn't need any altering. Perfect!

This cake really is great! WARNING.... the cake batter is more like cookie dough. I panicked when I had all the ingredients together. I was sure I did something wrong, but I baked it anyway. It turns out great!! I did add a good deal of lime juice to the icing. It cuts the sweetness well. I will surely make this again!
