this cake had fab reviews at our party. After reviewing prior reviews I put in an additional 1/2 c oil, 1/2 c toasted walnuts, and 2 cups apples. The icing was still a little too sweet so I am ging to back off honey next time. It took all of 1 hours and 20 minute bake time - moist and GOOOOOD

This cake is amazing! It was hard to get into the pan since it was so thick. the cake ends up being so moist and delicious. I don't think you necessarily need the glaze although I did drizzle about half of what the recipe made on the cake to give it a little more sweetness. I am planning on making it again soon!

This was such a delicious and easy cake and I had all the ingredients in my fridge or pantry, which made it a no-brainer to try for dessert tonight. I will make this again and take it to the next family potluck. The glaze was a little too sweet and the honey flavor was a little too strong for my palate, so I added in a few ounces of cream cheese and thinned it out a little more with milk, and that made the glaze just right for me. To me, cream cheese makes everything better :

Delicious! A pain to get into the pan because the batter is so thick but it's worth it. And when I made the glaze it seemed too sweet to me but my husband convinced me to put it on anyway... AMAZING! It complemented the cake perfectly! And my kids LOVED it!

Delicious and very moist. Love a recipe where you don't need to peel the apples! After reading the reviews, I watched the bake time and only baked the cake for an hour, at the most. The honey in the glaze made for a nice twist on regular sugar glazes.

Dah-lish, I loved this cake. I thought I had done something wrong because it was so thick. I rechecked the ingredients and was right on target so I went ahead and baked it anyway. It stuck to the pan which was a good thing because I tasted the stuck part and couldn't leave it alone. I think I ate the whole cake myself and if someone else got a piece they just got lucky. I have to make another one today so that I can share the goodness (maybe. Thanks Uncle Bob and Paula

P.S. I didn't use the glaze and it was just as good without.

Very interesting! This cake should hsve been delicious, but to me, it was too sweet! I will try it again with half the sugar and hope it turns out OK. What wonderful consistency and sooooo moist!

Hi Ms Paula!
I loved your show featuring Uncle Bob and his wonderful "Apple Cake"! Yummy!!!!. I made the cake and it turned out so very moist and delicious. This cake is now a family favorite as it lasted under 24 hours! I belong to a quilting group and plan to serve it to my friends next Tuesday evening to share the delightful treat! I'll have to make two at a time!!!!!! Thank you to you, and precious "Uncle Bob" for this wonderful recipe! Hugs and much appreciation to Y'all..........

This is a very good cake. However, the baking time in the recipe is way too long in my oven. I baked it in one hour and it was totally done. I think I will reduce it to 55 minutes next time. I also made cut the glaze recipe in half to save on calories. After eating it, I don't think it even needs a glaze. Next time, I'll just use fat-free cool whip on top.
