I made this cake yesterday for our get to gether we have every Tuesday. It was a hit!!! The only change I made was, I didn't have walnuts, I toasted pecans, and for the glaze, I didn't use honey, I used Peachtree Schnapps, Because It was the only thing I had in the bar,(lol and lemon rine and 1/2 & 1/2 and confectioners suger and lemon juice. I also poked holes into the cake so it would soak up the sauce. It did! I left it out over night and in the morning I put it in the freg. until the party. I served it with whipped cream made with powder suger and lemon juice. Everyone wanted to know how I mad the whipped cream. And they wanted the cake recipe. It was really a hit! Thanks Paula, You rule again! Its was even better than Kettal Deli's Zuccinni bread in Anahiam Calif! Please try this cake, it will knock your socks off!!! It is really easyS!!!

Awesome recipe! It is a very thick batter but came out great! I baked it in 2 8" cake pans instead of bundt and even added cream cheese frosting and everyone loved it and was asking for the recipe as well as fussing over who was going to take the leftovers home! Excellent recipe Mrs. Paula!! :

I was looking for an apple cake recipe for Rosh HaShana (the Jewish New Year - when apples and honey are traditionally eaten - and I came across this recipe. What a huge success! As the glaze is VERY sweet I only drizzled about half of it onto the cake. Afterwords, I grated some fresh cinnamon over the top to balance the sweetness. It was wonderful!

Simple and delicious apple cake. I used cortland apples I got at the orchard. I also only baked it for about 70 minutes and it was still done. Likes others mentioned the outside does get kind of hard, but the inside is very moist. Like the honey glaze, but may try with a caramel glaze next time.

The cake is absolutely DELICIOUS. I used 1 1/2 cups of sugar instead of the 2 and am glad I did. With the yummy honey glaze is was more than sweet enough and to my taste, would have been too sweet by using 2 cups.
This is probably the best apple cake that I've ever made. I didn't use any nuts though because of allergies.

Fantastic! Such a warm, homey cake. I used toasted pecans because I didn't have walnuts - it was still delicious.

Wow!!! I just had a piece! Soooooo yummy!!!! So easy! I thought that it was going to be hard because the outside of the cake seemed like you could somewhat knock on it :O....VERY deceiving. So super moist on the inside! Hubby loved! Of course he loves everything I make from Paula's collection!!! We love you Paula! You make me out to be a baking genius!!
