Took to a block party and it was a hit. Started out a little soupy. When it cooled down a little it was the perfect consistency. The dip was GONE at the end of the night. We went through 3 bags of chips.

This was terrible. Tasted like glue. And it is not mexican. I should know because I am one.

Looking for a contribution for a birthday party...searched "dips" and found this EXCELLENT one! HUGE hit at the party. Will be our "go to" party food. No, didn't buy the expensive real crab but the inexpensive pieces worked just fine and next time we will experiment with more jalapenos, cumin, etc. Prep time was minimal and easy to transport in a crock pot. Great Job Paula!!

This recipe has a lot of ingredients but don't let that scare you. Its easy and quick and I have taken it to a couple of Christmas get- togethers. Raves from everyone and request for the recipe. Thank you Paula - as usual, a big success! Have a small slow cooker and its great for appetizer socials.

Very good flavors together. Def. a crowd pleaser, had a few who loved it wanting the recipe! the cilantro, hint of lime juice, and 2 types of onion really go well with the crab and creamy cheesiness with beer undertones. next time i will cut the cream in half, try it with white wine, kick up the jalepeno and heat (spices. I wanted more kick to it. didnt want it too hot for most. cooked it as recipe shows-was about a 5 in heat- 10 being hottest. Also, def. gonna spend more jack on real crab too! served it with focaccia bread toasted and Pita chips. Totally reccomend this appetizer!

O.K go to your local groccer, buy a bottle of Tostitos Salsa Con Queso cheese dip. Next go buy expensive crab meat and mix it into the cheese dip. Do you know what you will have? You will have this Mexican crab dip. I thought it was a waste of crab, time, money and effort.

Best dip recipe! We served this for Thanksgiving day and it was a BIG hit. However, we like it better with sourdough bread pieces rather than the tortillas. Tastes like something you could get on Pier 39 in SF. LOVE IT. Easy and delicious.
