This is a wonderful dish. How unfair that some reviewers rate a recipe without trying it.

NO other onion will do! Look for the flatest (kinda shaped like a doughnut without a hole for the sweetest Vidalia onion. I don't think that any other onion will suffice without being overpowering.

Vidalia's are so sweet that peek season ones can be eaten like an apple.

My husband thought I was nuts when I first made this, he now askes for it. I would suggest using only the freshish watermelon trying to use up some two day old cubes did not come out as well.

Absolutely fabulous when freshly made! Not so good the next day.

Even though I have a bag full of onions, I went to the store just to buy the "sweet" onion that this recipe called for. The only size they had were soft-ball sized ones. I cut up half and set it aside while I cut up the watermelon. After getting the watermelon in the serving bowl the onion looked like it was going to be WAY too much. I ended up only using maybe 1/4 of the onion and it still was pretty overpowering. If you are a person who loves raw onions, maybe you would like this recipe. It was too much for me. It was an interesting mix of flavors, though.

I love the combination of watermelon, feta, & mint! Next time I will try substituting balsamic vinegar for the red wine vinegar for a slightly "sweeter" & richer taste. A great way to enjoy abundant summer watermelon!

I have made this salad so many times. Everyone loves it... the one change that I make is using balsamic vinegar instead of the red wine vinegar. I definitely think it makes all the difference. Great salad; we seriously eat it at least 5 nights a week.

This was wonderful, the mix of flavors really burst in your mouth. My husband does not usually eat fruit salads but he said how much he liked it. I am making this again tonight with BBQ. Thank you Paula another hit.

I had high hopes for this after reading all of the rave reviews. I served it at a luncheon, and there was quite a bit leftover...
