We served this over the holiday at a bar-b-que. Some guests were a little skeptical, but even my picky husband thought it was great and perfect for a cookout or a bar-b-que. As usual, everyone wanted the recipe. Paula, you are my best-kept secret! Every time I make one of your recipes, I get the best reviews. Thanks for your great show!

Love this! It looked a little "weird" on the show...but sometimes those are the BEST combos! (Onion, vinegar and watermelon???? Phenomenal!

My grandmother used to make something very similar to this (she was from Georgia...she added chopped parsley and used poppyseed dressing. It was wonderful and I'd forgotten about it until I saw this version. Both are very good...Try it with the poppyseed dressing!

For a better (and earlier version of this salad, try the one from Nigella Lawson's book "Forever Summer." It's miles better (it's suspiciously similar to Paula's recipe and includes parlsey in addition to the mint -- it is great. I was hoping Paula's would be better (it has a few less ingredients but it just can't hold a candle to Nigella.

This salad did not sound good to me, but a friend told me about it. Made it for a dinner party and received rave reviews.

I made this for the family on a whim, and was suprised at its ease and its refeshing good taste. since then I have made this for several groups who always demand the recipe. Note that if you set this out without explaination, some people will think it some sort of tomato salad, but everyone who tries it seems to be as plesantly suprised as I was the first time.

This is so good and so easy to make. I've given this recipe to my brother who teaches in Japan and loves it. So you have a following in Japan.
