Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup chopped apple
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 orange, juiced
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg, freshly grated

Directions

Combine the sugar and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the cranberries and return to a boil, then lower the heat so that the liquid simmers. Add the apples, walnuts, raisins, Grand Marnier, orange and lemon juices, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the sauce cool.

Serve in a side bowl with turkey or any preferred holiday dish.

    Amazing!!

I have made cranberry sauce before it it never tasted right. We had friends over for dinner last night, and we all could not... get enough of it. My daughter, who never eats cranberry sauce, could not stop saying how fantastic this was. This dish tasted even better the next day. I have already been asked for this recipe from our friends. This was a home run!!Read more

    Simply the best!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is by far the best cranberry sauce recipe I have ever come across, and is now a staple in our Thanksgiving dinner. It... was a hit with everybody, including my girlfriend, who until trying this sauce had hated cranberries. I can never go back to the canned sauce after making this, this is just too good! I would also recommend buying the 50ml (airplane sized) bottle of Grand Marnier if price is an issue for you, its just the right size. Cointreau also works great if you can't find Grand Marnier. Thanks Paula and Wayne!Read more

    AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This cranberry sauce was awesome. I've always wanted to make homemade cranberry, but never tried. This year I gave this... recipe a try and everyone loved, even my picky sister. I will definitely make this again for Christmas. My husband absolutely loved it. In planning my menu for Christmas he made sure that I included this sauce. I didn't use the Grand Marnier, too pricy, so I used the juice of two oranges. Read more

    Really, really yummy!

This is very easy to make, and will be a huge hit. I don't even like cranberry sauce, and I like this one. I just made it... for Thanksgiving, and everyone raved. I had to print out about a dozen copies of the recipe. Do trust what the other reviewers said, and let it set up before you worry about its not being sweet enough. It will be sweet and good. Just give it time. I made it the night before, and it was wonderful by the Thanksgiving meal.Read more
