I left out the nuts and added 1 1/2 Tbls Almond extract. they were AMAZING!!! Sent a couple dozen home with a friend and needless to say, the cookies were gone before he made it home to share. they are slap-your-husband good.

I follow the recipe exactly as written and they come out hard( I bake them 11 min. I think it need more butter. Flavor is ok, overall waste of time and ingredient! Not a good recipe!

I have been making these cookies for years! They are the most asked-for recipe in my arsenal! I swap out candied cherries for dried cherries. Most people comment that they would be too sweet with the candied cherries. I agree. One of the best cookies to give as a gift, add to a holiday platter or dunk in a hot cup of coffee!!!

Excellent! I made some minor adjustments, I didn't have cherries, I added cocoa powder to darken it, added chocolate chips, and they are fab!

These are the best cookies, ever!!! My entire family loves these and cannot get enough. Making a batch today to send to my step-son in Iraq for his 21st birthday! However, I changed the recipe a bit to use maraschino cherries...makes a huge difference! Try it, Paula!

wonderful and easy! I used dried sour cherries, since I had them on hand & sliced roasted almonds for the same reason. Added 1 tsp baking soda and 1/2 stick extra butter per other reviews. Wonderful!

It was good. Somehow mine came out a bit too dense. I'm thinking I used too many macadamia nuts and they were chopped too finely. I will try it again...
