People, we all know that Paula is not really cooking/baking on her shows. She will stand with her hand on the top of the stove indicating that it is not hot so the ovens are not really working. I envision a hord of background bakers preping her ingredients so she can just dump into a bowl. This recipe is not accurate; perhaps we should try to contact one of the background bakers.

In many, many recipes, what is listed online shows incorrect ingredients. Why don't we all stop copying Paula's recipes and do our own recipes---even if we are from "up north". Great idea, huh!!!

This recipe was a big hit. The only problem I had was the cookie was not flattening out during cooking. I pressed them down about halfway through using a drinking glass. They were perfect. I will make these again and again.

These cookies are simply perfect! There are light, not too sweet and easy to make. The second time I made them, I add one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, I grounded the ? C of coconut flakes to obtain a finer texture and I used almond extract instead of vanilla extract. Some reviews mentioned different ingredients ratio and a lack of sweetness; These persons probably took the recipe from this website: http://recipecircus.com/. As for the lack of sweetness, the right amount of white chocolate and coconut flakes on top give the perfect balance of sweetness to these cookies.

My mother and I tried this recipe for our christmas cookies this year. We followed it exactly as it appears (2.5 cups flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar and the cookies were great. We had read the reviews and tried one cookie in a ball and one flattened out as a test. The one in the ball doesn't look like Paula's but it was easier to dip. These cookies were not dry at all.

I've taken these to several parties and so many people have asked for the recipe. They look enticing with the white chocolate and coconut, but the taste is what counts the most. Everyone who says they don't really care for coconut even likes them! Thank you so much for this.

The chocolate-coconut cookies are very dry - and not very tasty! Dissappointed.

This cookie was very dry. I made sure I didn't miss any ingredients. The walnut shape of the cookie prevented the insides from getting done in some of them. I expected them to flatten out like other cookies do but this remained round. I flatten out the remaining ones to make sure the centers cooked. Very disappointing.

So after reading everyone's rather negative reviews, I decided to try to recipe with a couple of changes.

    - an extra half cup of regular cane sugar
    - a half cup of white chocolate chips
    - 3/4 cup of macadamia nuts
    - 2 eggs instead of 1

The cookies came out moist, but still fluffy, tender and the oatmeal cooked up deliciously in the cookies. The cookie was sweeter but not too sweet. Absolute hit at work!
