This cake is for the chocolate lover. It makes a wonderful presentation just as it is. I would have rated it a 5 star except that it can be overly sweet. Definately, best served warm. Can be heated in the microwave.

It you have a BIG sweet tooth, this may be the SWEETEST treat you've ever had! In fact, you may get an instant cavity. I was dying to try it after it came out of the oven, so I didn't give it more than 30 mins. to cool. The topping was very runny and SUPER rich. You really couldn't have more than a couple small bites. After refrigerating it over night, it set nicely. The flavor is similar to fudge and the pecans really make the recipe pop. I also used marshmallow fluff rather than mini's.

The icing was suprisingly grainy, but that was easily remedied with a few minutes on the stove. After the stove time, the icing turned out good enough, but next time, I'll just use my mom's trusty choc icing recipe which is made completely on the stove. I only tried this one because I wanted to see if the brown sugar made some amazing difference, but it doesn't.
I did make my own cake recipe as I'm picky about chocolate cakes.
Choc cake + marshmallow + choc icing is a great concept, and most any baker has her own favorite choc cake and choc icing recipes. Just use those!

I thought this cake turned out great. I didn't add the nuts and I used marshmallow cream instead of marshmallow's. It turned out very rich and delicous, I plan on adding it to my holiday menu this year!
