WOW! I've read through many of these comments, and I am surprised at how many folks didn't like this recipe! I've made these many times and my family and friends love them! I've never had any problems with the dough, and I personally love anything with sweetened condensed milk! It has a unique, and creamy taste and makes all kinds of desserts even yummier!!! As for how sweet these little treats are, well, my philosophy is: that's a great way to indulge your sweet tooth without going overboard and eating too many!
I have a hint for keeping chocolate melted while you're dipping. I put a heating pad on the counter and set the bowl of melted chocolate on it. I keep the heating pad on medium heat, and it keeps the chocolate melted as long as needed!

You will not go wrong with this recipe. I've been making these for a little over a year and I have to say people always ask me to make them because they are so irresistible. A friend of mine asked me for this recipe for a contest at work and they won best chocolate dessert. Absolutely delicious!!!

I have made these numerous times and everybody loves them. I use a small ice cream scoop to place the dough on a parchment paper covered sheet prior to putting them in the refrigerator. I also use the Wilton's melting chocolate to coat them with. I have never had a problem or a complaint.

I was hopeful these would be the hit on our fondue buffet. Not so. I made them as instructed but omitted the coating so people could dip their own in the fondue. They just didnt taste like regular cookie dough, we were very dissapointed.

I had never made truffles before, but I found this recipe very easy to make, and everyone loved them. Be sure to put them in the refrigerator before and after rolling them out. I also found they got better as they aged.

This was my first truffle recipe that I have ever made and it easily outshines any store bought truffle I have ever had. It made a ton! I couldnt really get my truffles to be perfect circles even though I refgridgerated them. Also, I only melted like half of the chocolate at a time because I didnt have a double broiler. This helped because the longer teh chocolate is in the saucepan, the more difficult it is to work with.

OMG I JUST READ SOME OF THE COMMENTS AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY NEGATIVE ONES... I DO AGREE TO PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE BEFORE ROLLING THEM INTO BALLS SINCE THERE ARE JUST WAY TO STICKY AND MINE CAME OUT IN COMPLETE BLOBS TOO LIKE MANY OF THE OTHER PPL ON HERE.... These are my family's and friend's new favorite holiday treat for the past two years. I am a foody who has lived in some of the greatest food cities in the US,San Francisco and NYC, so it makes me a difficult person to please. Make sure that you cream the butter to avoid a "flour" or "grainy" taste (Blend room temp butter and the sugar in a kitchen aid mixer or beaters for about 5 mins. I also eliminated the chocolate chips and added more pecans in order to make it a more refined less sweet taste.

These truffles in my opinion tasted awful! I know they are no bake, but i dont believe sweetend condenced milk should ever have gone into the recipe. It has a flavor that you dont want to eat raw! If you were to make a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe without the leveners and eggs, roll it up and dip into chocolate they would taste 10 times better than these cookie dough truffles. I made them exactly as instructed and threw the whole batch away as soon as I tried the first one. I love Paula Deen but this recipe was a waste of money and my time!
